Firstly I write about Amritsar the historically also known as Ramdaspur and colloquially as Ambarsar, is the second largest city in the Indian state of Punjab, after Ludhiana.
Amritsar is a major commercial and cultural centre in the heart of Punjab. The city is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh religion and is home to the Harmandir Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple. Respectfully marvel at the Indian and Pakistani soldiers who march-off nightly at the Wagha Border, and at the Jallian Wala Bagh the site of the 1919 Amritsar Massacre in 1919.
We visited Amritsar in October 2022 and stayed there for two days.
Before providing tips, I will give a brief explanation about travel.
So, what is travel?
"Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind, and fills your life with stories to tell.” - Paula Bendfeldt
Really, travel facilitates self-expression, intellectual growth, and the creation of unforgettable stories filled with beautiful moments in our life. My family and I are amorous about traveling and fortunately, I have had the fortuity to explore plentiful destinations since my childhood and continue to do so. I embark on trips whenever I feel the wish, as my love for travel allows me to overcome any obstruction that may arise before or after the journey. However, it is important to acknowledge both the advantages and disadvantages that accompany each travel experience.

Experience compile over time, and today, I would like to share some valuable tips that I hope will benefit everyone. These tips can be applied to your life when you plan to travel to any destination, regardless of whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, or with your family. By implementing these suggestions, you will enhance your ability to effortlessly reach your desired destination without encountering unnecessary obstacles.
So, best travel tips for Amritsar are:
1. Bring More Than One Credit/Debit Card with You also take money for emergency purpose.
Don’t make the mistake of just travelling with one bank card. It’s too easy for it to go missing, to break, be stolen, and there is even the chance that the ATM will not accept it (or eat the card!). Prepare for this by bringing at least 2 or 3 cards with you. This could be one debit card, one credit card and also carry some money for emergency purpose and make Photocopies Of Important Documents & Digital Copies.
2. Book Refundable Hotel Rooms
You’ll soon find that when travelling (especially when backpacking), your plans don’t always play out. This means you’ll need to cancel hotel bookings last minute. This has proven really useful for us in last minute situations where circumstances have changed.
3. Start Preparing Your Trip At Least 2 Weeks Before You Go
The sentence "Start Preparing Your Trip At Least 6 Weeks Before You Go" means that it is advisable to begin getting ready for your trip at least two weeks in advance before your departure. This suggests that it is important to allocate a sufficient amount of time for planning, organizing, and making necessary arrangements such as booking accommodations, purchasing tickets, researching destinations, packing, and other preparations. By starting early, you can potentially avoid last-minute stress and ensure a smoother travel experience.
4. Bookmark Posts On Instagram To Remember Great Places To Visit
This is such a great travel tip and something I’ve started doing in more recent years. Instagram is a haven for travel inspiration, and you can discover some pretty awesome places, both popular and remote, if you save those travel photos, you can go in search of them when you visit a location, and lots of time people tag the location in their photos which is super helpful. I found myself with a lot of places to discover from Instagram when we visited Amritsar.
5. Purchase A Quality Backpack
Before you head off to visit a place, it's a good idea to research different backpacks and suitcases that will perform well in the environment you're visiting.
6. Bring Ear Plugs
"Earplugs are extremely useful for various situations while traveling. They are perfect for plane and train travel, when you want to get some sleep, and they work wonders in hostels. Additionally, they are great for blocking out city noise in bustling urban areas and prove invaluable during long bus and train journeys throughout the country."
7. Don’t Bring Lots Of toiletry Products With You
Lots of people make the mistake of bringing shampoo and conditioner, body wash, and maybe some lotion. This really isn’t necessary. Firstly, it takes up valuable space, and valuable weight from your luggage and pack a Small Towel With You.
8. Bring A Small Travel First Aid Kit
We always travel with a small first aid kit that’s packed with the essentials. This includes paracetamol, flu tablets, tablets to help your tummy when issues arise due to food, plasters, antiseptic cream and a couple of bandages.
9. Carry A Small Bag Within Your Backpack For Dirty Laundry
Keeping your clean and dirty clothes separate is not only great for your sanity but for obvious cleanliness reasons too .Just bring a small extra bag that you can take your dirty clothes.
10. Use A Packing List
Packing lists are a really useful way to visually see and check off everything you need to bring with you on a trip. You can either create your own, or use an online list and combine it with yours to make sure you’ve covered all important stuff.

11. Eat Local food
It’s a great place to explore amazing local cuisine that will surround you!
Try new foods, ask locals for food recommendations and support the local businesses.
And remember lunchtime Always Has The Best Meal Deals In Restaurants.

12. Bring A Power Bank With You When On Long Day Trips
When you’re using your phone to navigate yourself, taking pictures you’ll find that your battery is going to drain pretty quickly. This can often be really frustrating, so I suggest bringing a power bank with you so that you can keep your phone charged when out on your adventures and bring an Universal Adapter.
13. Google Translate Can Be Useful to Communicate
It’s all well and good knowing little bits of the local language, but if you need to ask something specific, you’ll run into problems a great way to overcome this is simply by using google translate.
14. Use Local Transport To Save Money
Local transport is always cheaper because locals use it. It’s always best to just ask a local for advice with local transport. Tell them where you want to go and they’ll point you to the right train or bus.
15. Download Offline Maps For Your Chosen Country
Mark all your sightseeing locations on Google Maps and download offline maps so that you access directions without the internet. This has been super useful for us when travelling and I can’t imagine how we survived without it before!
Conclusion:
In conclusion, these travel tips can help you make the most of your adventures. Remember to plan ahead, pack wisely, stay organized, and be open to new experiences. Traveling can be a rewarding and transformative experience, so embrace the journey and create memories that will last a lifetime.
